Toronto — November 18, 2024 — Arcturus Networks Inc., a leading provider of edge AI analytics and enablement software today announced the availability of a comprehensive software stack for smart cameras and vision sensors. The Brinq Smart Camera Software platform combines a modern, scalable runtime architecture with AI analytics, a full-featured web dashboard and APIs for integrations. The solution runs entirely at the edge, independent of connectivity or cloud compute and already supports a comprehensive price / performance range of edge AI processors from leading vendors including NVIDIA, NXP, Synaptics, Qualcomm and RockChip along with NPUs from VeriSilicon, Arm and Kinara.
“A new generation of edge hardware is bringing camera, vision and AI capabilities to a wider cross-section of applications, whether it’s mobile robotics, safety, buildings, transportation or industrial systems.” said David Steele, Director of Innovation at Arcturus. “Companies realize the benefit of AI, but struggle with the complex mix of software and expertise required to deliver it.”
The software platform is built around a containerized microservices runtime developed by Arcturus that improves flexibility and scalability while simplifying vision pipeline creation. The result is an architecture that accelerates development by facilitating experimentation, improving code reuse and side-stepping the cumbersome build process inherent with monolithic embedded Linux distributions. Runtime vision pipeline software includes full “source-to-sink” support, multiple ML runtimes, accelerated subcomponents for hardware video processing and support for AI acceleration using GPUs, DSPs, and NPUs.
To generate high quality, actionable insights directly on the edge device the software platform uses AI powered analytics that combine one or more ML models with computer vision and data algorithms. The software includes a trial set of people-based analytics with tracking and reidentification, counting, zone, boundary crossing, loitering and motionless features. Additional people, vehicle, package or inspection analytics are available from Arcturus including support for smart sensors (e.g. License Plate Recognition, OCR, counting, occupancy, inspection). Arcturus data scientists and ML experts are available to meet custom requirements.
The software platform supports a modular full-stack system with an immersive front-end web dashboard providing streaming video, AI analytics events, and playback from onboard storage. The solution also provides management, status, and statistics tools, as well as AI analytics, zones, boundary, and scheduling configuration. The full-stack back-end supports a database system, messaging and APIs for integration.
A full-featured demo is available at no charge on NXP NavQPlus, Synaptics SL1860, Arcturus Atlas or uCIMX93 hardware platforms.
